This episode, I take a look at an overlooked Atari VCS game, “Jetboard Joust,” (by Freedom Games & Bitbull) which was officially released in 2021 on Nintendo Switch, VCS, Steam & PC. It’s a sequel to ‘Skateboard Joust’ on the Commodore 64 home computer back in 1988… (over 35 years ago!) JJ itself was released over a year and a half ago, but I’m just now playing it for the first time. It’s a retroey inspired SHMUP with procedurally generated levels. It’s got that 8-bit look and feel, the music is cool, too. Def a must buy for me! What do you think?
